Nothing ever runs smoothly and why should our first oversea's trip be any different.

We were due to perform at the Irish National Gymfest over the May Bank Holiday however a few weeks before we were told that the festival had been cancelled due to a lack of interest from Irish Clubs.  With our flights and accomodation booked we decided that we would head to Dublin anyway and with the help Carolanne at irish Gymnastics we were able to perform at a smaller display event that she organised for local teams in Dublin instead. - Many thanks for all your help carolanne, keeping us updated, organising cars to pick us up from the station, you helped make our weekend really good.

As it turned out it was a great weekend - despite the lack of sleep.  When you are in a room of 16 there is always someone still wanting to talk at half twelve at night!!

It probably didn't help that we nearly got chucked out the cinema on the Friday - Thanks Ashley, Catriona and Natalie, the couple in front of us really didn't appreciate the popcorn in their hair!

As the smaller event was on the Sunday instead of the Saturday that gymfest had been planned it meant we had to whole day to ourselves.  This allowed plenty of time for rehersal, devising some interesting and silly dances and songs, swimming and shopping.

On the sunday, it took us around 20 minutes to walk to the train station only to find out it was closed.  Another 20 minute walk to the next sation and we had just missed the train, therefore we had a half hour wait for the next one.   After the fourty minute journey we were greeted with the sight of cars to take us the to the centre where the display was - amazing relief that we did not have to persue another long walk.

When we got there we found out we were scheduled to perform twice so as well as performing the Britney and Usher Routine we rearranged Queen to fit the smaller group.  The audience although small was fab.  Mid Sutton in particular were great giving lots of support not only to us but all the teams in attendance.

Once the display's were over, we had time for a quick shot on the tumble track before the mad rush back to the hostel to collect our luggage and make it back to the airport on time.

Altogether Ireland turned out to be a fab weekend.
